Positive Behavior Intervention Supports & Social, Emotional Learning

Social and emotional skills, combined with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (P.B.I.S.) are critical for supporting our children as they cope with the uncertainties, challenges and stress of this pandemic. Along those lines, this year, we will continue our school-wide focus on Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports while also supporting our students’ Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). We will continue implementing school-wide positive behavioral expectations which we will launch with an assembly in late August. Social and Emotional Learning reflects the central role positive relationships play as well as the emotional connections formed in the learning process. There is a growing body of research indicating that Social and Emotional Learning is foundational to the academic success of our students, and must be woven into the work of every teacher in every classroom!
