  • Child Nutrition Department Update

    April 27, 2022

Parents, Guardians and Students of the Millbrae Elementary School District,

The Child Nutrition Department recently purchased a new Point of Sale (POS) system for our cafeterias. This new system will assist us in increasing the level of service we provide, as well as generate accurate school meal counts. We are preparing to implement this new system in our district during the week of May 9, 2022.

For breakfast and lunch service, students may be asked to use their current ID number (if needed, this number can be found in ParentVue) or Student ID card. Students will continue to be allowed one breakfast and one lunch, free of charge, each school day.   Please note that serving lines may be slower for the first few of days with the new POS system, but as the students familiarize themselves with the system the lines should move much more quickly.

For the upcoming 2022-2023 school year, all meals served will be free of charge to all students in the district under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Universal Meals Program.   Additional information on meal service for the upcoming school year will be provided in future communications.

If you have any questions, please contact our Child Nutrition Department at 650-697-5693 ext. 028 and we will be glad to assist you.  We look forward to serving your students in our cafeterias!

    In good health,

    Rachel Gekas

    Director, Child Nutrition Services
