Families, please join me in giving a very heartfelt thank you to the Green Hills Team of teachers! Our teachers have modified lessons, learned how to deliver the lessons online, shifted to in person & online classes all the while keeping in mind ‘what’s best for our GH students.” To all of the GH Team -- Thank You! We can do anything with Teamwork. You are an amazing team.
State Testing Information:
For the 2021 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), all students in grades 3 through 8 will be tested. Students will take the online Smarter Balanced (SBAC) tests in English Language Arts and Math beginning May 11. Students in grades 5 and 8 will take the online California Science Test (CAST) beginning May 25.
In-Seat Learners: Students that have returned to school for in-seat instruction will take the assessments with their teacher on the days they report for school.
Virtual Learners: For the 2021 spring administration of the CAASPP, students will be able to take their assigned tests remotely.
While the State allows parents to exempt their child from CAASPP testing, this must be done annually by written request. Please send your request with the student name and birthdate to your school’s principal.
For more information about CAASPP, please visit the Parent/Student tab of the California Department of Education CAASPP Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/ca/ and https://ca-toms-help.ets.org/spring-21-parents-guardians/
School Spirit Activity
Many of our classes will be participating in a school spirit activity to match the alphabet. ABC Countdown to School. For the last 26 day of school, there will be a themed activity based on a letter. Participating classes will receive more information from their teachers.
