What is the School Site Council?

The school site council is a group of teachers, parents, classified employees, and students that work with the principal to develop, review and evaluate the Single Plan for Student Achievement and advise on categorical funding sources. This group meets on a regular basis and plays a key role in data analysis. The members of the site council are elected by their peers. School Site councils generally make decisions and/or advise the principal on matters of safety, the school budget, academic progress and systems for ongoing communication with parents and community members.
