Dear Millbrae School District Staff, Parents, and Members of the Community:

In April of this year, a committee of sixteen dedicated individuals helped us to plan the course that will benefit our students for the next five years. 

The Strategic Planning Committee, which included parents, staff, teachers, administrators, trustees, city staff, and members of the community, worked closely together to create a new Mission Statement and Focus Goals for 2005-2010. The results of their creative efforts are now posted on this site (click on the links in the right of this screen).

Our new Strategic Plan was the product of a comprehensive process. Committee members reviewed District strengths, areas of need, and the most recent challenges facing education. The results of their dedicated work are evident in the inspirational Mission Statement and Focus Goals that have been set.

Each year during the next five years, specific objectives will be drafted for each of the six focus goals. These objectives or “Action Plan” will steer our District course in making a commitment to excellence for our students. Additionally, at the end of the year, a report will be made to the Board that shows the achievement of those objectives.

Our sincere appreciation to the following committee members who dedicated so much of their time to this important process and to Dr. Jean Holbrook, Associate Superintendent from the County Office of Education, for her superb facilitation skills:
