Girls Basketball Team – CHAMPIONS

On March 6, 2009 the girls’ basketball team made history. “We rocked the house,” exclaimed Isabel.

At the end of the first quarter, the team was down 10-2 and the Meadows Mustangs were winning. In the beginning of the second half, coach Ashley called a timeout and brought the team together for a pep talk. The girls charged forward, determined to win the game and championship. The girls rallied behind Aubrie and worked together as a team to bring the score to 20 -18, Green Hills lead. At the very end of the fourth quarter, the game was tied 30-30 and went into overtime. For the next two minutes, it was very suspenseful and the audience was screaming and cheering. Green Hills was able to keep the Mustangs from scoring and Aubrie scored the final basket to ensure a victory. The final score was 32-30, Green Hills had won the first ever basketball championship and made HISTORY.
Team members: Allie, Alyssa, Amber, Ann, Aubrie, Bianca, Isabel, Klytie and Sara celebrated their victory with pizza and lots of smiles!!!
