Facilities Update

Over Spring Break, the District replaced three HVAC units at Lomita Park.  This completes the upgrade to the HVAC system on the main building.  We also replaced the carpet at Lomita Park with carpet tiles.  This will extend the life of the carpet since small areas can be replaced when they become stained.  It will prevent the stretching experienced with rolled carpet as well.

The heater and duct work in the library at Spring Valley were replaced due to a small fire.  At the same time, the district elected to replace the heater in the Multi-Purpose Room since it was the same age and type as the heater in the Library.

The City has gone out to bid on the renovation of three of our school fields.  The first field to be completed will be Lomita Park, followed closely by Spring Valley and Meadows.  Trees have been removed in anticipation of the renovation and the fields are being fenced off so that construction can begin.  Work will accelerate as soon as school is out for the summer and continue through October of next year.  Please see Field Use Agreement and aerial photograph links on this page

The District will be advertising for a Project Manager soon for the Bond approved by the voters last November.   A sub-committee is hard at work developing a Request for Proposal.  We will update you as this process moves forward.
